Officially known as the Province of Siquijor, Siquijor is an island province in the Philippines and the third-smallest in terms of both population and geographical area.

Because of how fierce the fire flies were, the Spanish gave it the name Isla del Fuego. According to legend, Siquijor emerged from the sea during a massive thunderstorm, and the highest point in Siquijor, Mount Bandila-an, still preserves fossils and shells.
